Island & republik is essentially a lifestyle interior and design boutique. The name itself is a combination of two brands, Turquoise Island and Republik founded and created by Alyssa Mazlan.
A self-taught designer, Alyssa launched Elissa Intimates, a lingerie line under the brand name TURQUOISE ISLAND in 1999. She then went on to create her own range of wood block printed fabric under the brand name REPUBLIK and turned that into a signature collection for women’s wear, home accessories and stationery.
Following the success of republik, Alyssa decided to merge both brands to create a more diverse portfolio of creative fashion and art thus paving the way for the establishment of Island & republik to its current offering of bespoke interior, furniture, brand design and retail boutique.
